James S. Griffith New Mexican popular music collection, 1963-1975.

This is a collection of New Mexican music recorded in early 1970's on 45 rpm discs. It is a unique representation of popular music at that time, including Polkas. A large number of the musicians and musical groups were from Albuquerque and Santa Fe. For easier access the discs have been reformatted to cassettes. Also included are Farmington and Navajo Nation '73 sung by Frankie LoĢpez. An account of the Albuquerque balloon fiesta is romanticized in the Ballad of the Double Eagle II. The songs are indexed alphabetically by title.
